Kindergarten & Preschool

Gateway Christian Academy’s K3-K5 program provides a nurturing and engaging environment that sets young students on a path toward academic and spiritual growth. Our mission is to train students spiritually, academically, socially, and physically, preparing them to impact the world for Christ. This mission is woven into every aspect of the K3-K5 experience, laying a strong foundation for each student. 

For families seeking flexibility, we offer a half-day program for K3, K4, and K5 students, focusing on core academic instruction during the morning hours. Most half-day students depart at 12:30 p.m., only missing the afternoon naptime. Our program follows the ABEKA curriculum, which emphasizes essential skills in reading and writing, ensuring students are well-prepared for elementary school. Our reading program, taught phonetically, is exceptional, enabling children to build confidence and effectiveness in reading. 

K4 students enjoy weekly Spanish and Art classes, while K5 students participate in a weekly music class. Bible class remains the cornerstone of each day, especially for K3 through K5, as we instill a love for the Word of God through daily Bible lessons and verse memorization. Special spiritual moments are integrated into the day, helping children experience God’s love in meaningful ways and developing a deep sense of faith. 

Our program also prioritizes rest and play. Nap time allows kindergarten and preschool students to recharge, while daily recess on their private, age-appropriate playground encourages physical activity and socialization in a safe, nurturing environment. Each day is thoughtfully structured to engage young minds with a balance of academics, special activity days, and morning recess/playtime, promoting learning, creativity, and fun. 

Our curriculum introduces foundational subjects, including Bible, Phonics, Reading, Math, Science, and Art, fostering creativity and a love for learning. In these early years, K3-K5 students also learn Spanish, Bible verses, and cursive writing, building strong handwriting skills that will benefit them for years to come.
